Diversity Workshops
I offer a wide range of workshops and trainings for colleges, universities, organizations, and the general public. Topics that I frequently present include diversity and academic performance, Latinos and higher education, gender and sexuality studies, transgender students and academia, and access to equity in higher education.
All my workshops and training
sessions are free. I do this in order to help facilitate change in
institutional and organizational environments that are committed to
either admitting or hiring "diversity populations"; that is, groups that
have been historically disenfranchised at the national, state, and
local level by administrative, institutional, and management practices.
My workshops and trainings are grounded in social science research and its practical applications. They are informed by the latest research and are characterized by energizing, enjoyable, and participant-centered interactions that are geared to promote positive institutional change. All participants get specific, simple tools that they can use immediately.
Here are a few of the workshop and training topics I offer:
"Latinos and American Cultural History: An Overview of Major Academic, Business and Institutional Practices"
"Latinos in American Higher Education: Goals, Expectations, and Assessment"
"Transgender Studies 101: Achieving Social Justice and Gender Equity in the Classroom and Beyond"
"Recruiting and Graduating Latinos"
"Latino Student Success: Best Practices through Institutional Support"
"Latinos in Business Environments: Recruitment and Training"
