HEALTH AND SAFETY (FALL SEMESTER 2021)

Vaccination Policy

All faculty, staff and students entering a Hunter building for any reason or length of time will be required to demonstrate proof of vaccination or possess a weekly, valid negative COVID-19 PCR test. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Testing

Any faculty, staff or student who is not vaccinated will be required to participate weekly in CUNY’s on-site testing program and show proof of a valid, negative COVID-19 test to enter the campus. Only a test administered at a CUNY campus will be acceptable. Hunter is operating a testing site, accessed through the North building at 69th Street, or you may select a CUNY testing site closer to your home. For more information about the testing program, please see here.

Student Policies

CUNY has been very clear that all students need to be vaccinated. Following the FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine, students will have to upload proof of vaccination by September 27. Until that deadline, students without approved vaccination status will need weekly proof of a negative test from a CUNY testing site in order to attend classes and access campus. Students taking in-person or hybrid classes who fail to meet this deadline will be subject to potential academic and financial consequences.

All students, regardless of vaccination status, must be masked in classrooms and in all public areas. Unvaccinated students are required to socially distance from others in the room. While professors should not ask students about their vaccination status, faculty should begin class by reminding unvaccinated students to socially distance. Professors may remove their masks to teach. The Chancellor has updated CUNY’s mask policy. For details, please see here. If you have any issues with mask compliance, please call Public Safety at 212-772-4444.
